Hungering to get a closer look at Panem’s Capitol city or for more behind-the-scenes details from the eagerly anticipated “The Hunger Games” movie? Microsoft has teamed up with Lionsgate studio to create a website (www.thecapitoltour.pn) where visitors can take a virtual tour of the Capitol, go to the Avenue of Tributes, even come upon some of the characters from the movie. (You have to register via your Facebook or Twitter logins in order to take the tour.) Microsoft approached Lionsgate last year about creating such a site, according to an official article from Microsoft. The site was designed using HTML5 and CSS3, rather than Adobe Flash, which means the content should be more readily accessible across different platforms without the need for plug-ins. More will be added to the site in coming weeks, according to Microsoft, including a training center where visitors can see Hunger Games competitors exercising and a memorabilia center where visitors can explore artifacts and weapons used in previous Hunger Games. The Microsoft-Lionsgate partnership is one of many new marketing approaches Lionsgate is taking for “The Hunger Games.” You can read more about those efforts here.

I give it about hmmm, a week before all the dental webdesign companies in N. America start offering expanded features in their sales and marketing pitches to you based on the interactivity and social networking you’ll see in evidence. APPS are now exploding for patient dental education, you follow the trend…….copy genius, anon………whether the dental industry will follow suit or not, hard to say, but if you visit the website above, it is the most intuitive, the most extraordinarily designed site to keep you on it endlessly and coming back for updates in this blogger’s memory, granted, age and short term memory loss are in full operation……….but I digress, what was I blogging about……….oh, yeah, visit the Capital Tour, and remember there are two more coming……….155 million on the opening weekend, harrumph, CHUMP CHANGE. Oh by the way, did you notice it was designed with HTML5 and not FLASH – STEVIE BABY, you’re still changing the world from on high.
