wing number of Australians are avoiding or delaying dental
appointments because of cost, according to a report to be issued today
by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare.

Delaying appointments is likely to be a major contributor to higher tooth extraction rates among low-income earners.

Cost concerns led one third of Australians to avoid visits to the dentist in 2008 an increase of about one third since 1994.
